Progressing With a Purpose

The week is about up and we made a pledge to finish 19 Clan Rats and 2 Herders.  How are we doing?  Pretty dang good.  Here's and update photo, featuring our Herder.  I decided to cut one of the Herders from the mix, just so I could set him aside for a conversion project we're going to work on shortly.  We need a unit filler and he's one of our 'Mini-Plinth' pieces.  More and that later.

All we have left to do now is to paint the eyes and tails, add our greeny-green highlights, then finish our warp stones on the Herder.

Speaking of which, here's how he was painted.  Everything we used was right out of our Clan Rat pallet, with one exception.  Army Painter 'Uniform Gray' was used to highlight his hair, which in turn was mixed with 'Pale Flesh' (Vallejo) to lighten the color.  The lighter color was applied to the tips of the fur to accent the strands.

No wash was used on any of the reds this round, since our initial base coat of Red was dark enough to provide ample shadows.  Here are a couple close-ups.

The whole batch will be finished tomorrow, right in time to complete our painting pledge, which we entered on the Miniwargaming.com site.

Until next time,

Casey
